Our handmade earrings are made in the same workshop, with the same materials, as our silk thread bangles. Most customers order them together so the earrings match the bangles exactly in colour and stone. Handmade earrings: the styles we make
- Silk thread jhumkas – a thread-wrapped dome with a bead fringe. Light to wear because the base is not solid metal.
- Kundan studs – a single flower or star of kundan stones on a post back. Same stones as on our bangles and rings.
- Thread drop earrings – a wrapped teardrop or oval on a hook, with or without stones.
- Bridal chandbalis – crescent-shaped earrings with kundan and pearl drops, made to match a bridal bangle set.
Materials and comfort
Earring hooks and posts are nickel-free brass or stainless steel. Kundan stones are glass set in gold-tone foil, the same standard used on our bangles. Silk thread pieces weigh less than metal jhumkas of the same size, which matters if you wear them for a full wedding day. If you have sensitive ears, tell us and we will use surgical steel posts.
Matching earrings to a bangle set
Send us the product name of the bangle set you ordered, or a photo of bangles you already own. We match the thread shade and use the same stone shapes. Matching is easiest when the earrings and bangles are ordered together, because we cut the thread from the same spool.
Ordering and delivery
Ready-made handmade earrings ship within 1–2 working days. Custom pairs take 2–4 working days to make. Every order is sent by courier from Feni to any district in Bangladesh; see all delivery locations. We do not ship outside Bangladesh.
For heavier styles such as chandbalis we include a small clear ear support that takes the weight off the piercing. The jhumka form itself is a traditional South Asian design; see the Jhumka article for its history.
Common questions about handmade earrings
How heavy are silk thread jhumkas?
A medium thread jhumka weighs around 8–12 grams per earring, less than a metal jhumka of the same size, because the dome is thread over a light base.
Can I convert hooks to studs?
Yes, tell us when ordering. Most designs can be made on a post with a butterfly back instead of a hook.
Will the thread colour match my bangles if I order later?
Closely. An exact match is only guaranteed when earrings and bangles are wrapped from the same thread batch, so order together where possible.
